Along with the usual array of banners and emails, SUN Microsystems led to my first break as an actor. To help raise the visibility of the Try and Buy promotion, I hit upon the idea of a young man taking his SUN server out on a date and before I knew it cameras were rolling and Hollywood beckoned.
I have also been heavily involved in the marketing of SystemHeroes, an irreverant site populated by system administrators looking to poke fun at hopeless lusers. Working with a Flash Developer, Caffeine Crazy, a viral game consisting of one sysadmins quest for coffee, helped to increase the traffic to the main site and swell the ranks of Hero Central.
